Scars are areas of fibrous tissue that replace normal skin after injury. A scar results from the biological process of wound repair in the skin and other tissues of the body.

My Scar Restoration treatment, also known as Scar Resurfacing, improves the appearance and texture of scars through the process of Micro-needling. Also known as dry needling or collagen induction therapy (CIT), micro needling works by causing a controlled amount of trauma to the scarred area to trigger the bodies natural healing response. This response stimulates collagen and elastin production, as well as cell regeneration. Melanocyte activity is also stimulated during this treatment, which results in an increase in melanin production to help improve the colour of the scar. If the colour of the scar does not improve with micro-needling alone, I can use a colour dispersion technique with skin-toned pigments to further camouflage the scar.

Raised scars can be flattened with this treatment, and indented scars can be lifted and levelled. Tight/taught scar tissue is relaxed through the needling process. A pure hyaluronic acid serum is used on the treated area during the micro-needling process to infuse the skin with a boost of hydration.

This treatment can be used to treat face-lift scars, breast augmentation scars, arm lift (brachioplasty) scars, tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) scars, C-section scars, burns, acne scars, hair transplant scars, and more.
