FAQ's

How does laser hair removal work?

Our laser hair removal system uses a combination of energy and heat to destroy follicles without harming the skin around them. After a series of sessions, you’ll experience permanent hair reduction. Depending which area(s) you decide to treat, you’ll always be ready to slip into a swimsuit, won’t have to think about razor burn or irritation, and will stop worrying about unsightly ingrown hairs.

What is the difference between Laser and IPL?

IPL and Laser are not the same. Laser machines are more targeted and more powerful than IPL. Both technologies emit light which is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat which damages the hair follicles at the root. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth.

How many sessions will I need?

We have millions of hair follicles in our bodies, all of which cycle through different phases. Laser hair removal can only treat a certain percentage of those hair follicles at a time (those that are in the active growth phase), so appointments must be carried out at varied intervals. Because no two bodies are the same, your treatment plan will be tailored specifically to you. Typically, we recommend a course of 6-8 laser hair removal sessions spaced 4-10 weeks apart.

Will I need maintenance sessions?

If your hair growth is the result of a hormonal imbalance, such as PCOS, then maintenance sessions may be needed roughly every 6 months - 1 year to control the hair growth. Regular hair growth will not require regular maintenance sessions as the laser will permanently destroy the hair follicle at the root, meaning there is nowhere for hair to grow from.

How should I prepare for laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal sessions can be as fast as fifteen minutes, and we just ask that you stay out of the sun, shave the area to be treated, and avoid using lotions, creams, or products for optimum results.

How old do I need to be to have laser hair removal?

There are not age restrictions with Laser Hair Removal. However, it is advised that females wait until they have started their menstrual cycle before considering having treatment. If your child is struggling with unwanted hair growth, then please get in touch to discuss with Chloe.

Can laser hair removal cause skin cancer?

There is NO RISK to laser hair removal causing skin cancer, and it is also completely safe to have LHR if you have had skin cancer in the past. This is because the light used during laser treatments doesn't have the same UV wavelengths as those found in sunlight which are known to cause skin cancer.
