Platelet-Rich Plasma

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Specialist in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset

"I was slightly nervous at first, but Chloe put me at ease, and can't rate her highly enough."

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments at Micro Artistry Hair Clinic are performed by registered nurse Chloe Johnson. Chloe is a practising A&E nurse who has expanded her clinical expertise to specialise in PRP therapy.

PRP is a natural treatment that uses your body's own nutrient-dense platelets to promote healing and rejuvenation. A small sample of blood is taken from the arm and processed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma from the other blood components. Suspended within the plasma are a high concentration of platelets. The plasma solution is often referred to as "liquid gold" due to its distinctive golden colour. The PRP is then injected into the target area, where it can stimulate cell growth, collagen production, and regeneration of tissue. PRP treatments are minimally invasive, require no general anaesthesia, and offer long-lasting, low-maintenance results.

Not all PRP is made equal...

When it comes to Platelet-Rich Plasma, the quality of the result is only as good as the quality of the equipment used.

Nurse Chloe Johnson uses the Hawksley Regen swing-out centrifuge - a gold-standard medical centrifuge designed specifically for PRP preparation. The swing-out rotor technology allows the blood tubes to spin horizontally, creating a more even separation of blood components. This helps form a more dense platelet layer and improves platelet recovery, meaning a higher yield of viable platelets can be achieved to maximise the regenerative potential of your own plasma.

Chloe also uses the world-leading, top-rated PRP tubes designed to achieve the highest possible platelet yield. Higher platelet count means more growth factors, which are key drivers behind tissue repair, collagen stimulation, and hair follicle regeneration.

PRP for Scars

PRP therapy is an extremely effective scar restoration treatment used to treat fresh or aged scars. It works by accelerating the body's natural healing response at a cellular level, increasing elasticity and collagen production. PRP can be used to improve the appearance and texture of scars. 1-3 sessions are needed on average.
