Scalp Micro-pigmentation is one of the most popular solutions for hair transplant scar concealment due to how safe the treatment is and how results are instant with very little downtime. SMP can effectively conceal Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) hair transplant scars by blending the scarred area with surrounding hair.
SMP works on almost any type of scar, whether surgical or injury-related. The scar does need to be at least 6 months old before having scalp micropigmentation, and the scar must be pale in colour and flush to the skin. If the scar is red and/or raised, it may not be ready for SMP and may need more time to heal or preparation with inkless needling.
