Acne Scar Treatment in Somerset nr Bristol
My Scar Restoration treatment can be used to treat acne scarring as well as ice pick scars (atrophic acne scars) and pitted scars to improve the skin's tone and texture by boosting collagen and elastin production. Acne should be inactive for this treatment. If the acne is still active, I will use a peel prior to starting your treatment. The scars to be treated should be at least 6 months old or fully healed. 1 - 6 sessions are needed on average to complete the treatment. Once complete, the results are permanent.
Microneedling for Acne Scars & Pitted Scars
Micro-needling, also known as skin needling or inkless needling, is an effective skin rejuvenation treatment used to reduce the appearance of acne scarring by resurfacing the damaged scar tissue. The process of micro needling involves creating targeted micro-punctures to the scarred areas of skin. The controlled trauma activates the bodies natural healing response which helps to break down old scar tissue and stimulate fresh new collagen and elastin. Micro-needling will work to plump and re-build indented scar tissue. This treatment will also reduce hyperpigmentation and redness which will further help to blend the scarred areas with the surrounding healthy skin tone. Skin-toned pigments can also be used to help neutralise any red areas.
